Science Foundation Arizona (SFAz) equals Innovation

Thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of the people of Arizona, we have enjoyed extraordinary prosperity and quality of life in our State.

In the new, global knowledge economy of the 21st century, continued prosperity depends on innovation - and innovation depends upon the investments we make in the talents of our people.

At Science Foundation Arizona (SFAz), we are ensuring that new innovations arising from strategic investments in science, research, technology and education will provide the same high quality of life in Arizona for generations to come.

In the last year,  SFAz distributed and managed $33.6 million dollars in Innovation Investment Grants throughout Arizona; business, industry and university partners matched these investments dollar-for-dollar.   The intitial 58 results-driven investments, with high commercialization potential, have attracted & leveraged an additional $43.8 million in outside private capital, seeded the development of eight new companies and fostered science and math skills in over 10,000 students statewide.

Together with its partners, Science Foundation Arizona is helping position Arizona as a recognized and significant location for innovation excellence - for today and for the future.
